Help - Mobile Internet

  • Q.Can I access the Mobile Internet from any phone?
    • A:Yes, providing your phone is GPRS/3G enabled.
  • Q.Can I configure my phone manually for Mobile Internet if my phone does not support the automatic reception of the settings?
    • A:Yes, here are the settings. Please refer to the manual of your phone as some information can differ from mobile to mobile.
      • Connection Type: VFQ Mobile Internet
      • Access Point Name: web.vodafone.com.qa
      • Authentication: Normal
      • No user name and password required
      • IP address: 10.101.97.102
      • Port Number: 80
      • Homepage URL: http://mobile.vodafone.com.qa
  • Q.Why is the speed sometimes slow?
    • A: Sometimes the 3G network is not able to deliver sufficient signal strength. This could be due to a number of things, including being outside the 3G network coverage area or using a mobile that is not 3G enabled. Try refreshing/reloading the page or restarting the browser after a couple minutes.
  • Q.What if I can’t access the Internet at all?
    • A: Firstly, ensure that you still have value available on your Flexi plan. If you do, there may be a system outage or a specific problem within our network. We will notify you if there is a known issue, otherwise please try again later. If the problem persists, please call our Customer Care Centre on 800 7111 or 111 from your Vodafone mobile.
  • Q.Can I use Mobile Internet while Roaming?
    • A: Currently Mobile Internet is not available for customers while Roaming.
  • Q.How much does Mobile Internet cost?
    • A:

As long as you load a Flexi plan at least once a month, browsing Facebook™, Maktoob, Orkut and Friendster is free. You’ll also get 10MB of free Mobile Internet every month to check out all your other favourite sites. After that you’ll pay a standard Flexi data rate of QR 2 per MB.

If you like to surf a lot, our Mobile Internet plans make it affordable. On Freedom, QR 50 will get you 300MB of data per month. On Red, QR 50 will get you 75MB of data per month.

  • Q.What sites can I browse for free?
    • A:

With Mobile Internet on Vodafone you can browse Facebook™, Maktoob, Orkut and Friendster as much as you like for free. Please note that you will be charged as usual when you follow external links away from these sites or view embedded external content (i.e. YouTube videos) during your browsing session.

You can also browse the Vodafone.com.qa website at no cost.

  • Q.Do all Vodafone customers get the free 10MB?
    • A: Yes, the 10MB of free Mobile Internet is available every month for everyone with an active Flexi plan. That means loading a new Flexi at least once per month. Whether you’re accessing the web on a Mobile Internet plan or through your usual Flexi plan, your free 10MB of data will be used up first.
  • Q.How do I add a Mobile Internet plan to my current Flexi plan?
    • A: Freedom customers should visit a Vodafone retail location and request a new Mobile Internet plan.
      • Red customers can use Online Reload, e-load or a Recharge Card to add a Mobile Internet plan. They’re available anywhere Vodafone is sold.
  • Q.How can I check the remaining value on my Mobile Internet plan?
    • A: You can check the balance of your Mobile Internet plan by dialling *129# from your Vodafone mobile.
  • Q.What happens if I use all my Mobile Internet plan before the end of the month?
    • A:

On Freedom, if you use all the value on your plan before the 30-day period ends, we’ll automatically add a new one to your account. That means you’ll always be connected to the internet with a great value data plan. If any value remains at the end of the month, it’ll roll over for one more month before it expires.

On Red, you can add a plan anytime you like and enjoy 60 days in which to spend it. After 60 days, any remaining value will expire.

We’ll let you know by SMS when you’ve used 80% of your plan, so you’ll have plenty of time to add a new one. If you continue to use Mobile Internet after the value of your plan has run out, you’ll be charged at the standard Flexi rate of QR 2 per MB.
