Help - Freedom
- Q. What is Freedom?
- A: Freedom is our ‘on-account' monthly payment method, which allows customers to pay for their plans using a credit card or debit account. Freedom offers you the choice of setting a Monthly-Limit, or No-Limit payment method.
- Q. What happens if my credit card payment fails for one of my Freedom Plans?
- A: If your credit card payment fails, please check to ensure you have sufficient funds on your credit card. If you do have sufficient funds, then contact our Customer Care Team on 111 and ask them to try processing the payment again. If we're unable to process the payments from your credit card you will still be able to:
- Continue to use any remaining balance on your Freedom Account for up to 60 days (from the date of your last purchased Freedom Plan).
- Continue to make roaming calls with your remaining balance when travelling in countries that charge in real time, for up to 60 days (from the date of your last purchase Freedom Plan).
- Continue receiving calls for up to 120 days (from the date you last purchased a Freedom Plan).
After 120 days (from the date you last purchased a Freedom Plan) your number will be disconnected.
- Q. Can I move between Freedom Plans after I have signed up?
- A: Yes, you can change your Freedom Plan up or down, or switch between Freedom with a Monthly-Limit, Freedom with No-Limit and Freedom Roaming Extra at any time, with no charge. To move between plans click here or call our Customer Care Centre on 111. You will need to pay for your new plan at the time of making the change.
- Q. How long does my plan last?
- A: All Freedom Plans and their free bonuses are now valid for 60 days. When you replenish every month your current balance and any bonuses you get are also extended for another 60 days.
- Q. How do Freedom Monthly-Limit Plans work?
- A: If you prefer to know exactly what you'll spend each month, you can limit your Freedom Plan to a pre-set amount from our available plans. Freedom with a Monthly-Limit lets you limit payments from your credit card or bank account to only one new Freedom Plan every month, giving you total control of your spend.
- Q. Can I choose my anniversary date?
- A: Yes, on Freedom Monthly-Limit you can choose your anniversary date to be any day from the 1st of the month to the 28th of the month. Call us on 111 to update your anniversary date.
- Q. How will I know if my balance is running low?

- Q. How do Freedom No-Limit Plans work?
- A: Freedom with No-Limit is ideal for people who want total freedom - and no more scratch cards. You always have credit because your payment is made automatically from your chosen payment method. Your credit card or bank account is charged automatically with a new Freedom Plan every 30 days, or when your Freedom account has reached QR 20.00 (whichever happens first). We'll let you know by SMS when this has happened.

- Q. What is delayed charging?
- A: There are a few countries that don't allow us to charge your account in real time. This means that charging will be delayed and it will be possible for your credit to drop to a balance below QR 0. If you want to roam in these countries then you will need a Freedom Roaming Extra Plan.
To find out more about our roaming prices and whether the country you are travelling to has delayed or real time charging, please click here.
- Q. What is real time charging?
- A: When roaming with your Vodafone mobile in most countries abroad, you will be charged in real time. This means charges will be processed at the same time as you make and receive calls and SMS/MMS. You can roam in real time countries with any Freedom or Red Plan.
- Q. How does a Freedom Roaming Extra Plan work?
- A: Delayed transactions for the calls you make when roaming will be processed and charged when we receive your billing information from the country you are in. If your balance drops below QR 20 we'll replenish your regular Freedom Roaming Extra Plan. This will happen whether you are in Qatar or roaming abroad.
If you have a negative balance due to the calls you make when roaming, a payment will be taken for the total of this amount to bring your balance back up to QR 0. Plus, we'll also add your regular Freedom Roaming Extra Plan to your account so you always stay connected. To see an example click here.
- Q. Where can I roam with Freedom Roaming Extra Plans?
- A: On Freedom Roaming Extra Plans, you have the flexibility to roam on over 465 networks around the globe. You'll be charged in real time on most networks, while on other networks there may be a delay. This means it could be from a few days until a few weeks before your account reflects the calls you've made while roaming.
