How to get a Mobile Internet plan

If you’re already a Vodafone customer and would like to add a Mobile Internet plan to your current Flexi on Freedom plan, please visit a Vodafone retail location and a sales champion will be able to assist you. If you use Red, simply purchase a Mobile Internet plan using our Online Reload or anywhere you can already buy Vodafone products and services.  You can add a Mobile Internet plan to your existing plan whether you’re on Freedom or Red.

New to Vodafone? First, simply choose a Flexi plan and then select to add-on the Mobile Internet plan that suits you best.

With Mobile Internet on Freedom you’ll never run out of value. After 30 days, we’ll automatically add a new Mobile Internet plan to your account and any remaining value will be carried over for another 30 days. If you use up all of your value before the end of the 30-day period, we’ll add another plan straight away, so you always stay connected.

If you like to prepay, you can go online with Red. Just grab your plan and start surfing. We’ll let you know when you’ve used 80% and 100% of your value, so you can add your next plan when you need it. Please note that if your Mobile Internet plan on Red runs out completely, you’ll be charged at the standard Flexi rate of only QR 2.0 per MB until you add a new one.

Do you know how many Megabytes it takes to surf the Mobile Internet?

Ifyou like to browse sites like BBC or CNN, the average page is about0.10 MB. That means that if you look at 10 to 15 webpages, you’ll useabout 1 MB.

Sites like Google™ are about 0.05 MB per page, so youcan look at around 20 to 25 search results pages and use approximately1 MB.

If you use the Facebook™ mobile site, it’s optimized forviewing on your handset so those pages are only about 0.025 MB each.That means you can look at 40 pages and only use 1 MB!

Checkingwebmail, like Hotmail™ and Google™mail, will use about 0.1 MB, whichmeans you can check about 10-15 emails. This includes logging in,reading, writing, and sending email. Emails with attachments willincrease the number of MB used.

When downloading video that’smeant for a mobile screen, it’s generally about 1 MB per minute ofdownload. YouTube™ videos are smaller than full screen and so arecloser to 60 kbs per minute.
