Matthew Harrison-Harvey
Director, Regulatory & External Affairs, Vodafone Qatar
Matthew is a lawyer by profession, and despite a career spent weighing up the pros and cons, is an avid supporter of Reading football team.
He joined Vodafone Group in 1999 and held a number of public policy and regulatory roles working with Vodafone operations in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Middle East.
If Matthew could pass any law in the world it would be to make governments and schools provide quality sports facilities in schools for children and teach them how to use them. He believes that sport is great for well-being, teambuilding, competition, and requires hard work and commitment to make best of natural ability. Values that Vodafone certainly admire!
Married to Catriona, Matthew was born in 1975 in England. It's his mission to make a positive difference to the lives of his wife, family, friends, colleagues, and the people that he meets. By being determined, honest, supportive, and passionate he also believes he can a world of difference for the people of Qatar.
Matthew came to Qatar in 2008. Not only is he Regulatory and External Relations Officer, responsible for legal, regulatory, and corporate affairs, Matthew is also Company Secretary and a Member of the Board of Directors of Vodafone Qatar Q.S.C
He loves Qatar, he says the only down side is that it is difficult to attend Reading football matches.
Matthew's favourite quote is by Winston Churchill: "We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give".
